The Road to Hell
ETERNAL DEATH, DESTRUCTION REIGN’S, AMONGST THE SCORES OF CAMEL TRAINS.
BUSES BLACK, BURNT THROUGH-OUT, YET STILL THE AIR, NO LIFE ABOUT.
CARS THAT ONCE DROVE DOWN THE WAY, NOW DARK, MISSHAPEN, BURNT AWAY.
BLACK IS THE SKY, THICK IS THE SMOKE, INHALE THE AIR, ON DEATH YOU CHOKE.
WAGONS ONCE, WERE FULL OF CATTLE, DOWN THE ROAD TO HELL THEY’D RATTLE.
ALAS NO MORE THEY TRUNDLE BY, CAUSE LIKE ALL ELSE, THEY DID, BUT DIE.
ONCE FULL OF TRAFFIC, THIS ROAD DID PAVE, STANDS SILENT NOW, THIS AUTO GRAVE.
ALL UNDERNEATH THIS MELTED MASS, LAY BODIES FULL OF POISON GAS.
EXCEPT THE ONES WHOSE STENCH AND SMELL, WERE BURNT AWAY, IN BLAZING HELL.
NO LONGER TRUCKS, DELIVER LOAD, ALONG WHAT’S CALLED THE ‘BASRA ROAD’.
